Partner with Makers101
Makers101 publishes independent reviews, comparisons and buying guides for 3D printers, laser engravers and 3D scanners. Our readers are people about to buy their first or next machine. This page explains how review units, launch coverage and sponsored content work here.
Nik, founder and editor. Printing since 2022.
People who are about to buy a machine
Most readers reach Makers101 from Google while they compare models and prices. About a third of our search clicks come from buying searches: head-to-head comparisons, “best” lists, reviews and price checks.
Our largest audiences are in the United States and Germany, followed by the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Readership has grown every quarter this year. Full figures are in the media kit.
Reviews and launch coverage are free
Both are editorial. The only thing we ask for is the product.
- Product reviews
- I test the machine on my own bench and photograph it myself. The review is labeled as a review unit, the verdict is mine, and it’s linked from related comparisons and buying guides.
- Launch coverage
- A launch page with specs, price and availability, published in launch week and updated as details are confirmed. Embargo dates are respected.
- What fits
- 3D printers, laser engravers, 3D scanners, filament and the gear around them. If a product isn’t a fit for our readers, I’ll tell you before anything ships.
Launch pages readers found
Two recent examples. Neither was a paid placement.
- Creality SparkX i8Published in August 2026 and updated as specs and pricing were confirmed. It ranks on Google’s first page and was our most-read page in September.
- Bambu Lab R1Price, specs and early reviews in one place. Its German version drew more readers from Google than the English one.
Other ways to work together
- Coupon codes
- Codes are listed on our Coupon Codes page, and one code per brand is featured on the homepage.
- Affiliate programs
- We work with Amazon Associates and Awin. If your brand is on either, reviews and buying guides can link to you.
- Sponsored articles
- Guides on topics our readers search for, labeled as sponsored and kept separate from reviews.Rates are in the media kit.
How a review works
- Get in touchSend the product link and any launch or embargo date.
- Fit checkI confirm it suits our readers before anything ships.
- TestingUsually two to four weeks after the unit arrives.
- PublishedI send you the link when the review is live.
Editorial standards
- Review units and launch coverage are never paid placements.
- A review unit doesn’t buy a good review. If a machine has problems, the review says so.
- Sponsored content is labeled at the top of the page.
- Every paid or affiliate link is marked rel=”sponsored”.
- Hands-on tests are labeled, and roundups say whose data they use.

Questions from PR teams
Do you charge for reviews?
No. Reviews and launch coverage are editorial and free. Only sponsored articles carry a fee.
Do you respect embargoes?
Yes. Nothing goes live before the date you give me, including photos, prices and social posts.
Can we see the review before it goes live?
I’m happy to check specs, prices and product names with you before publishing. The verdict stays mine.
Do review units need to be returned?
Usually I keep the unit. That lets me keep testing and update the review months later. If you need it back, tell me before it ships.
How long does a review take?
Usually two to four weeks after the unit arrives, depending on the machine.
Do you cover the German market?
Yes. Every article is also published in German, and Germany is our second-largest audience.
