The Revopoint RANGE 3 and RANGE 3 Pro handheld 3D scanners launched on Oct. 22 with pre-orders at $369 and $459 before a 5% launch discount. By my math, the base model costs $430 less than the RANGE 2 did at its $799 launch, and the store lists shipping from November 1.
The company also teased the MIRACO 2, an all-in-one, multi-mode scanner that combines blue laser lines with full-field HD and VCSEL modes, headed to Kickstarter. It has no price and no launch date yet.

What the Revopoint RANGE 3 and RANGE 3 Pro Change

Both models use near-infrared VCSEL structured light, which projects a speckle pattern to capture depth. The Pro adds 11 parallel infrared laser lines, which is where the headline accuracy and speed come from. Key figures from the RANGE 3 spec page, as listed by Revopoint:
| Revopoint RANGE 3 (as of Oct. 24, 2026) | RANGE 3 | RANGE 3 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| List price (pre-order price) | $369 ($351) | $459 ($436) |
| Shipping | From Nov. 1 | From Nov. 1 |
| Scan modes | VCSEL only | VCSEL + 11-line laser |
| Volumetric accuracy | 0.05 mm + 1 mm × L (m) | 0.03 mm + 0.2 mm × L (m), laser mode |
| Scan speed | 20-30 fps | Laser: 80-105 fps with NVIDIA GPU, 40-60 fps on CPU |
| Working distance | 200-1000 mm | VCSEL: 200-1000 mm; laser: 200-600 mm |
| Smallest object | 30 mm cube | 20 mm cube |
| Battery grip (5,000 mAh) | Optional | Included |
| Weight | 218 g | 220 g |
The accuracy formula grows with object size. By my math, a 1-meter car door works out to about 1.05 mm in VCSEL mode and 0.23 mm in the Pro’s laser mode. That accuracy gap and the included battery grip are the clearest differences for the extra $90, though laser mode only works out to 600 mm.
Revopoint says both models scan outdoors in up to 100,000 lux, connect over Wi-Fi 6, and run up to three hours on the 5,000 mAh battery grip, which is included with the Pro and optional on the base model. The Pro can also scan markerless in laser mode, using surface features and color for tracking.
What the RANGE 3 Gives Up Compared With the RANGE 2
The new scanner reaches less far. The RANGE 2 worked from 400 to 1300 mm and captured up to 860 × 1380 mm in a single frame, according to 3D Printing Industry’s launch coverage. The RANGE 3 tops out at 1000 mm and 687 × 672 mm. The RANGE 2’s $799 kit also included a power bank handle and tripod, while the base RANGE 3 doesn’t include the battery grip.
In exchange it starts working at half the distance (200 mm versus 400 mm), accepts smaller objects (30 mm versus 50 mm), and its VCSEL mode is listed at up to 30 fps against the RANGE 2’s 16 fps. My read: that’s a fair trade if you scan engine parts and statues. If you scan whole vehicles or furniture from a distance, expect more passes.
The computer requirements also climbed. Revopoint’s minimum Windows spec now lists an RTX 3060 with 8 GB, where the RANGE 2 asked for an Intel i5 and 8 GB of RAM, and color tracking is marked PC only with a dedicated GPU required.
Revopoint RANGE 3 Price: $369 List, $351 on Pre-Order
The RANGE 3 store listing shows the two scanners at the prices in the table above when we checked on Oct. 24. Two Pro bundles add Revopoint’s scan-to-CAD software with a one-year license:
- With Revo Design Personal: $684 list, $616 on pre-order
- With full Revo Design: $999 list, $868 on pre-order
That makes the RANGE 3 the cheapest new scanner in Revopoint’s US store, below the INSPIRE 2 ($549 list) and POP 4 ($839 list). One odd detail: a refurbished RANGE 2 sells for $437 in the same store, a dollar more than a new RANGE 3 Pro on pre-order.

Revopoint MIRACO 2: What’s Confirmed So Far
The MIRACO 2 follows the standalone MIRACO, which lists at $1,499. Revopoint’s MIRACO 2 sign-up page claims six scan modes, including 34 blue laser cross lines and a single-line mode for deep holes, plus volumetric accuracy of up to 0.02 mm + 0.05 mm × L (m) in multi-line laser mode. Its forum post claims 120 fps and up to 10 million points per second in Hybrid HD mode.

The pre-launch offer is a $30 VIP deposit, capped at 200 spots, that returns $100 cashback and 500 marker points. Revopoint frames the $100 cashback as value added to a MIRACO 2 Kickstarter pledge, and the page doesn’t say whether that deposit is refundable if you don’t back the campaign. Large-object photogrammetry also needs the Photogrammetric Metrology Kit, sold separately.
What the RANGE 3 and MIRACO 2 Mean for Makers
If you own a RANGE 2: keep it if you scan large objects at a distance. My read is the RANGE 3 Pro is the upgrade only if you want the laser mode’s tighter accuracy on mid-size parts.
If you mostly scan small parts for 3D printing: Revopoint pitches the RANGE 3 at medium to large objects. Our Creality Pika vs Revopoint POP 4 comparison covers the pocket scanners aimed at small objects.
If you’re buying your first scanner: the base RANGE 3 is a low entry point, but budget for a capable computer if you plan to scan on a PC. The app also runs on phones, though Android needs flagship-class hardware (Snapdragon 8 Gen1 or equivalent, 12 GB RAM). Our best 3D scanners for makers guide compares other routes, and scanners like the EINSTAR EZ GO are another way in.
If you’re tempted by MIRACO 2: the $30 deposit buys a discount on a price nobody has seen. Kickstarter backers also carry the usual delivery risk.

What We Still Don’t Know About the RANGE 3 and MIRACO 2
- Independent accuracy: Revopoint’s accuracy figures come from a lab test method, and the company notes real results vary.
- Color tracking on the base RANGE 3: the spec table lists color tracking for both models, but the feature description ties it to laser line mode, which only the Pro has.
- MIRACO 2 timing and price: no campaign date, pledge price or shipping window yet.
Revopoint hasn’t said how long the 5% pre-order discount runs, so for now the November 1 ship date is the firmest number in this launch.
